SASANIAN KINGS. Ardashir I, 223/4-240. Pashiz (Bronze, 15 mm, 2.54 g, 9 h), Mint C (‘Ktesiphon’). Draped bust of Ardashir to right, wearing diadem and Parthian-style tiara decorated with stars; to left and right, traces of the Pahlavi legend. Rev. Fire altar; to left and right, traces of the Pahlavi legend. SNS I, type IIi/3a. Cf. Göbl type II/1/2. Weak strike and with some staining, otherwise, very fine.
